Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are both mature, widely used business email platforms. Neither is universally “better” — the right choice usually comes down to your team’s existing tools and habits.
Consider Microsoft 365 if
Your team already uses Windows, Office file formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), or Teams for communication. Microsoft 365 integrates tightly with these tools and is often the more familiar option for organizations already invested in the Microsoft ecosystem.
Consider Google Workspace if
Your team collaborates primarily through browser-based tools, is comfortable with Google Docs, Sheets and Meet, or uses Android devices heavily. Google Workspace tends to feel lighter and more collaborative for browser-first teams.
Migration is possible either way
Moving from one platform to the other, or from a self-hosted or shared-hosting mailbox to either platform, is a well-understood process involving mailbox migration and a planned DNS cutover for MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.
